While Holly's on vacation, I, Trader Bob, am tied to the desk for the entire business day. The whole day. Today, our part-time stockjock, Tom, went to his favorite lunchtime retreat - 7-Eleven, and I asked him to bring back his favorite treat - the "Big Bite." I gotta tell you ... not bad! What I did to the basic dog, mustard, onion, and bun turned a mundane, ordinary, typical hot dog into a special treat. You'll remember that last week, I, Trader Bob, made a batch of Sweet Relish, and that very jar was still in the fridge. As you can see from the photo, the relish is from a grated cucumber - not chopped - and it is delicious. The relish still has a lingering flavor of fresh cucumber, and it gives the entire sandwich an unexpected burst of class. Tomorrow, I'm thinking about a tuna sandwich delivered from Freaky Fast Jimmy John's and piling some relish on that, too. I can hardly wait.
