I had no expectation for this "making food preparation easier" dessert. All I could think about was peeling and slicing 6 - 8 apples. How easy can that be? Well, I guess I had never peeled an apple before, because it was a breeze. And the resulting "crisp" is really, really delicious. As with the banana bread, the crisp "batter" is the most delicious part of the dish and is even a little more tasty when you "snitch it" when no one's looking! Perfect dessert for four - maybe six. Serve it warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a slice of nicely-aged cheddar cheese! Really, really good. You may also consider Apple Crisp as a creative side dish for pork chops (better than applesauce) or perfectly grilled steak.
